About the role

The Community Program Manager’s role is to encapsulate quality founders, operators and investors in Folklore’s orbit and build Folklore’s reach and reputation within the startup ecosystem, through managing quality, market leading programs, initiatives and engagement strategies. This role is also key in engaging, upskilling and uniting Folklore’s portfolio founders and operators through portfolio specific programs and initiatives. Your mission is to build our community and presence, make a positive impact in the startup ecosystem and to facilitate great outcomes for Folklore’s founders, operators and investors.

Core responsibilities

Management of portfolio community programs, experience and engagement

- Manage, coordinate and complete portfolio onboarding within 4 weeks of investment to ensure maximum engagement and an embedded sense of community and partnership.

- Quality and timely program planning and execution, including development of a high frequency educational program (ran a minimum of quarterly) and further programs, such as a mentor/expert in residence program, to connect and educate the portfolio.

- Create and socialise scalable educational content and resources i.e. playbook and maximising community website.

- Manage and maximise our Campfire (community) Slack and website strategy and engagement including a goal of all portfolios interacting with Campfire and improved month on month engagement data.

- Manage and maximise job board efficiency and utilisation with increased month on month engagement data.

- Create close and trusted relationships with portfolio founders and operators; being seen as the go to POC.

- Engage with portfolio for quarterly reporting.

- Report across all programs and channels and implement findings and learnings for improved effectiveness.

- You will be supported on design and asset creation for all programs and initiatives by our Graphic Designer. When programs are running, all hands are on deck and you will have a level of support from the Operations team, including event organisation support from our Team Assistant.

Management engagement and community programs for the broader ecosystem

- Strategically design, build, scale and grow ecosystem programs, i.e. Chapters, to maximise lead generation, portfolio support and brand building/reputation.

- Strategically build out investor engagement, events (minimum 1 annually) and communication channels, ensuring we are gaining maximum potential and relationships with already existing and prospective investors.

- Report across all programs and channels and implement findings and learnings for improved effectiveness.

Ecosystem marketing and brand building

- Manage event calendar for the team; what events we should be going to, speaking at and sponsoring, to support all Folklore objectives; leads, investing, portfolio and fundraising.

- Be an ambassador for the firm by attending, speaking at and hosting quality industry and startup events to upskill, network and build your own and Folklore’s brand.

- Build personal and the firm’s brand for lead generation and recognition as a leading VC including ownership and improved execution and impact of firm marketing and platforms.

- Own Folklore’s social media strategy and post on a frequent basis across different platforms using content developed by self, the firm and the portfolio.

- Produce exciting long form pieces based on your work and learnings.

- You will have content creation support from the broader team, who all own content for the firm.

About you

- You are a self-starter who is accountable to their work and deadlines and can manage programs and projects in a timely manner from start to finish.

- You are an exceptional communicator with laser focus on detail and can analyse and materialise your big picture thinking into actionable goals to achieve the firm’s goals.

- You have driven successful, large scale projects and programs.

- You can diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues.

- You have a demonstrated passion for the startup ecosystem and connecting people to the business to support Folklore achieve its mission.

- You have excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to foster alignment and urgency with the startup ecosystem.

- You think commercially in how you drive and manage programs and relationships.
